Wilderness, Wild & Scenic Rivers, and Trails Program Manager, US Forest Service

Colter Pence works as a Wilderness, Wild & Scenic Rivers, and Trails program manager with the US Forest Service, Flathead National Forest.  She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in natural resource management from the University of Idaho.  She lives in Columbia Falls with her husband and 5-6 backyard chickens.

From remote and wild settings in the Crown of the Continent, to the backyard of northwestern Montana neighborhoods, the 3 Forks of the Flathead Wild and Scenic River flow, with opportunities for all who wish to make their splash.  As recreation use surges in the river system, river stewards, both federal, state, and local NGO’s, are working to address challenges and find solutions to continue to protect and enhance this river system and connect us to the spirit of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
