Megan leads Headwaters Economics' research in outdoor recreation, public lands, economic development, and demographic change. She is an economist, and uses economic and demographic analysis to better understand the issues communities face. She holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Williams College.


Trends, Opportunities, and Challenges with Outdoor Recreation Economies

Outdoor recreation is an economic engine in many communities within the Crown of the Continent, but it is not without its challenges. This presentation will address trends in the outdoor recreation economy within the Crown, the challenges that often accompany an outdoor recreation economy, and solutions to help communities mitigate some of these impacts.
